It seems that when my trans is cold it makes grinding clunking noises. It is only when the clutch is engaged in or out of gear. The noise goes away when I push in the clutch. It also seems to get quieter once it has been driven for a while. I put in a new clutch/throwout bearing a couple months back. (used bg syncroshift as reccomended by the mitsu dealer) Any one have an idea???? TIA:wary

Yeah, that BG isn't probably the best thing to use... If your car starts slightly "jerking/pulling" forward in neutral, then you can figure you have a few hours of driving before you cant shift anymore :-)

My car was doing the exact same thing -- same situation new clutch / throw out bearing -- then i switched out the BG -- it doesn't handle cold weather well -- go get the MITSU Fluid -- my noises are all gone.

Yeah my car does it too when it is cold. I've been using Mobil 1 full syn. 85/90w could that be my problem.x(

Well I switched out my fluid again and I still have the same problem. It is really annoying. What could it be? bearings?

Maybe God doesn't like you...did you run over a squirell or something? j/k There's a pretty easy fix to this problem...mine has it too...
1) don't drive it immediately after starting it, EVER--let it warm up a minute or two :nono
2) if its cold, push the clutch in (the sound should go away) and wait a few minutes until the engine warms up..the tranny won't exactly be warm, but it'll be warmer..then just drive very gently for a minute and it should go away...

I HATE doing this, but i'm afraid i'm gonna chalk up the ratllin' tranny to one of those "noises" you just have to turn your stereo up to and ignore
