i asked this b4 and noone realy helped out,heck i cant even get a stright answer from the mech around here.

when i take off from a stright flat road at about 2k 9 times out of 10 i get 1-3 loud pops that sounds like they are comin from the front drivers side.if i push the gas at about a norm rate after that i dont get any grindin.but if i push it hard i get this grindin(not like very bad brake grind)from the drivers side again that can keep going thur out the gears if i keep the acc up.

when i take off going down a hill 9 times out of 10 i dont get any noise even if i really take off kinda hard.

when i take off from a hill going up 10 times out of 10 i get the poping,and if try to go any faster then grand maw speeds i get the grindin really bad,but if i let off of it a bit then it will go away.

ive asked about 10ppl about this,rangin from old timers to full time mech's and its always came back mixed,one will say its something in the tranny and another one will say it sounds like a cv joint that has been over looked because the boot isnt in bad shape.

i myself have this fellin that its the drivers side cv joint because when i took it out i had never takin one off b4,so i tryed to remove it like the repair book said to but it was so hard gettin out of the tranny that i pulled on it a few times and felt it pop in and out of its socket inside the boot a few times..so what do you guys think this could be?

why cant i get any replys about this?and only 4 views,dang and if i post it somewheres else mods will just take it down..i need to fig this out ASAP..

nothing should be poppin in and out of a boot. Acutally you shouldn't be able to get the knuckle back together if you pop it out. Try replacin the axel, its only like 70 bucks. Try replacin stuff and see what fixes it.

I say a bad motor mount and a bad CV joint.

thats what the 1st mech thought and got me to leave the car with him,but he came back and said that the mech that installed the motor did a great job of jimmy rigin the rear motor mount(dont know why he jimmy riged it) and that all the play was within specs so it couldnt be that..

well like i said we tried to pry the axle out of the trany like hayens said to do and it wouldnt come,so i started pullin on the shaft and it poped out about 4-5times on the tranny side at the joint right at that green hub or whatever it is that goes into the tranny and i just pushed it right back in with no probs..

the green hub that goes in the tranny is the axle. As far as taking off at 2k...how bout not doing that anymore. The shock of a clutch being dumped kinda wreaks havoc on ALOT of things, like your suspension, motor mounts, tranny internals, clutch, throwout bearing, axles...just about everything in the front of your car.

but i am with dino...cv joint or motor mount. I have a popping noise right now, but i really think its from my tranny, cuz i can feel it in the clutch pedal whenever i shift...but we'll see :shrug
