Hi guys,
this is the second time i have posted this problem... the first time i didnt get one single response and i bumped it like 5 times.

ANYWAYS, there is something wrong with the clutch on my 98 GS N/A. The clutch works 100% fine, engages and disengages with no problems and the gears shift perfectly.

The problem is, i get a clicking at a certain point when i push it and when i let go. the clicking is at the same point both ways i push the pedal. i checked wires and everything by the pedal to make sure there is nothing in the way... i have no idea why its doing this! Can someone help me diagnose the problem? what should i look at? I dont know squat about transmissions or clutches and Mitsubishi wants $700 to pull my transmission and take a look, and then charge me more to actually fix the problem if they find one.... sorry im not willing to drop that kind of cash unless its something i cant fix myself.

after reading the searches, im leaning towards master cylinder or slave cylinder.. but thats all i can find in the searches. I had this problem last christmas and the dealership said that the master cylinder was missing a bolt and they fixed it for free... but now its back again... what is a master cylinder? where is it and what does it do?

If it works fine, shifts, engages, disengages, makes jullian fries... then there's nothing wrong with it. What's the problem again?

mine started doing that soon after i got my car. you may want to check around your clutch pedal where it connects to your clutch master cylinder. check the boot for leaking. I believe mine was my piston acting up, ive yet to rebuild it so im not 100% sure but i have the same clicking noise. Im hoping to get it fixed this weekend if im blessed with some warm weather and no rain this time. but then again yours may be something different just thought i would try to help. I'll try to remember to post on here to let you know if the sound goes away.

You took the words right outta my mouth, except the fry part, lol. Mine does the same thing, clicks at the same points of engagaing and disengaging. They're no leaks, the car runs and shifts fine. So Im leaving it alone till something makes my foot wet or the thing leaves me sit.

To the other guys... the problem is is that its not only a noise, i can actually feel it click. if it was just a noise it wouldnt be a big deal, but its just annoying as hell and a gaurantee that its not supposed to do that. Its probably not that big of a deal, but If there is a problem i would like to fix it. I guess im just anal about little things like that.

Well if you can feel it and hear it clearly use common sense. Its not the clutch, its not the slave cylinder, its not the lines. The problem lies in the pedal, pushrod for master cylinder, or master cylinder. Take it apart and look for an old bushing wearing or where the pushrod connects to the piston of the master cylinder.

Some problems dont have answers, you need to pull it apart and inspect for wear.
