I installed one of these about 6 months ago. Just recently, the RS has been very hard to get to go into gear. It feels as if the clutch isnt engaging fully when the pedal is pushed down. Sometimes, in 1st gear, if you push in the clutch to,say, coast to a stop sign...the car will buck like the clutch isnt pushed in. If sitting still, with the clutch pushed all the way in...you can barely feel the car creep forward when you go tp put it on gear. The clutch was installed correctly...broken in properly, etc. Im wondering....could air in the system cause something like this? i dont have any visible leaks, but there is always a chance. Anyone have something similar happen? any ideas/suggestions? Thanks a lot.

It needs bled. If that isn't it then somethings wrong with the clutch. I'm sure it just needs bled though.

i agree with, ^^. bleeding it should definitely be your first step.

Yeah try bleeding it. Make sure you bleed it properly! You *MUST* put a vacume hose or some kind of small hose on the nipple for the bleeder. If you don't it's just going to suck more air into the slave cyl.

I appreciate the responses. Here's hoping there IS air in the line... i dont want to buy yet another clutch for this thing. :)

just a thought, you may have broken off one of the two (really small and easy to break) keepers that holds the throw out bearing onto the shift fork. only way to know for sure though is....out she goes. hope that helps ya...chris

I am having the exact same symptoms with my SPEC Stage 4 right now!!! I have a really bad feeling about it though. I think I am about to be very pissed at SPEC in a few days. My clutch is only a year old with about 15k on it. Let me know how it works out for you!

Pulled mine out today. Looks like a issue with the throw out bearing. It looked like it wasn't being held in place properly by the release fork. Hopefully that was it, now it is time to put my PT Cruiser clutch in.
