3448, SPEC stage 3 Modular clutch Posted by eclipse982nrRST, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
Well since I will be boosting on 16psi next spring and getting ready to order teh clutch from howell, from the response's of the posts ive searched and read, I guess its safe to say I will be getting the SPEC stage 3 Modular clutch with steel flywheel. Guy from howell said it will be perfectly fine to daily drive on and perfect for racing on for about 16psi boosting.
couple real quick questions though before I order the SPEC 3 modular ....
*whats the advantages of going with the modular type clutch (i would obviously need the Mopar conversion kit) ?
*i will be okay using the steel flywheel insetad of an aluminum flywheel since i dont really have the extra $$$ for an upgraded aluminum flywheel ?
*why does it say it will have light chatter ?
*should I trust this guy's word from howell about using this clutch ?
lol .... help asap would be nice guys, thanks, i wanna order this monday so help me out fella's. thanks in advance!

Well, don't you think that you are being a little harsh on him?
Nah, me neither.
What kind of a fuckhole are you? I, correction, EVERYBODY tells you to use the goddamned search function. Does it do any good? Why the fuck would it this time?
We tell you about the "Things We Have Seen Before" section. I guess your dipshit self can't wrap your mini-brain around that.
Now, think REALLY HARD next time before you post, and look for some opinions that have already been posted. You're the unfortunate side effect of a miscarriage gone wrong. Please walk away from your keyboard so that we don't need to read your posts anymore. If you walk away from your keyboard, ten bucks says that you won't be able to find your way back.
What... The... Fuck.

I suppose, though, I can't really walk away from this post without any kind of a positive exchange of information. I'll try to take it slow, though, so you can understand.
By the way, I would love to see you try to keep the car running at 16 PSI for more then one oil change, but that is neither here nor there.
For your clutch, you seem to be sure of what you are going to get, so why are you just now getting opinions? Seems that you would want to collect opinions before making a decision, but that would be rational and intelligent, but then again, neither acronym would describe you, right?
What are the advantages of going with a modular clutch? Gee, I don't know... you already fucking have one, so you tell me! The advantage is that anybody with at least the intellect of a bowl of ape piss can install it. There are 4 bolts holding the clutch/flywheel to the flexplate, just like you already have. So no, Einstein, you don't need a conversion kit. The disadvantage of a modular setup is cost. It is more expensive to replace a modular clutch when you melt it in 5K miles.
A steel flywheel will be fine. What do you think you have now, bronze? Stone? The rocks are in the head, buddy. There is no need for a luxury like an aluminium flywheel. Some people really like the slow revs and the parasitic loss. Get an overdrive crank pulley made out of lead, too, while you're at it.
And a ceramic clutch will make a chattering noise from a dead stop. It doesn't like to slip, so it will hop a bit. Makes a really cool noise that makes you want to drive your car off of a cliff. (Subliminal message: drive your car off a cliff)
Lastly, as for whether or not you want to trust this guy's word on the Spec, that is entirely up to you. I would recommend searching and reading the following glowing recommendations:

10 bux says that he makes these dumbass fucking threads and doesn't even check them. I mean, how could he **not** reply to these replies? Either he hasn't read this thread, or he realizes that he can't defend his dumb self against the truth.

Maybe he doesn't feel like getting into a third grade arguement with you. Cut the shit and lighten up.
I'll take an uneducated question over a wrong answer any day.
Now go to the bathroom and change your tampon, seems to be that time of the month for you.

You're not that dumb, you know exactly what was wrong with your reply.
