4 puck vs 6 puck (ceramic) which is better overall?

From what I know or have been told the 4 puck is better in holding more power but will have a shorter life span. A 6 puck wont be able to hold as much power as the 4 but will have a longer life.

So does this sound right or was I fed a pile of BS??

TIA
Brian

Perhaps.

it sounds right, but in practice, i imagine the 4 puck would last just as long but take more abuse. Heat and slip kills clutch disks, and a 4 puck should slip less.

Yeah, there is less mass in the disc to take up the heat of slippage, but it is less prone to slip. I bet that they even out. But yes, the 4 puck will hold more power and be harder to slip.
