3040, Converting from cable to hydraulic

Since a neon transmission is alot cheaper than a 2gnt transmission, I have decided to get a neon tranny. The problem is how am I going to convert the cable tranny to a hydrualic clutch setup.

I took off my hydro clutch fork. All it does is pivot on a ball, which can be removed. So can i just swap the forks over and use the hole tranny (bellhousing and transaxle) from a neon???

Use the bellhousing from your 2GNT on the neon tranny case. That's it.

I know that is the easiest thing to do, but my bellhousing has a hole in it.

Butcher a Neon for the parts you need, then. Don't know what to tell you otherwise, besides hydralic > cable.

The NV-T350 differential doesnt like slip in lsd obviously.

with the Neon bellhousing you wont have a place to mount the slave cylinder to. Good idea but wont work.

after looking at the neon bellhousing closely, i came to the conclusion that it would take some drillin and ghetto rigging for it to work. The forks are very similar though.

Does the 2ng gen neon tranny drop right in, since it is hydraulic???

Yes, though some of the gear ratios are different depending on model. See the MTX FAQ on the main site. http://www.2gnt.com/nuke/modules.php?name=FAQ&myfaq=yes&id_cat=6&categories=Manual+Tranny#33

that link says this:
What Neon transmissions will work with the 2GNT?

None of them, with the Neon bellhousing. You have to put your 2GNT bellhousing on the Neon trans. Internally the Neon DOHC transmissions are identical to the 2GNT transmission.

AND ALSO SAYS THIS:

the 2001+ transmissions use the same hydraulic slave cylinder that our cars do, and only require replacign the shift arms and mounting brackets.
