This started a week ago. Sometimes there is no freeplay on my shifter between 1st and 2nd when i push it over from neutral, but freeplay between 5th and reverse. Sometimes there is freeplay. Sometimes I push it over and it sounds like a pop and there is freeplay.
Also, when there is no feeplay, i shift from 1st to 2nd i can't pull straight back. I have to slide it right a little and then left back into 2nd.
I'm thinking this has something to do with the shifter controls itself and not anything towards the engine bay because i hear that pop that sounds right at the shifter.
I hope i am clear on what the problem is. Hard to explain. I wanted to get some ideas b4 i take out the center consoul and look at it.
