I have asked this question to bill to let him cycle through that encyclopedia of a brain he has, he referred me to a guy at asog but I have never been able to contact him. Now its your turn.
As many know my tranny is barely holding itself together, now I have heard a rumor that the newer neon trannys fit our cars and they are stronger. How much truth is there to this and which year/model neon would be applicable. TIA.

i'm not sure, but the transmission shop guy said that a neon trans will work as a replacement for ours. but he said PRICY!!!
would the gear ratios be different too? i'd like to keep our *possible top end

Search. Fast420A has posted a link to the various Neon models and the version of the T350 they run. All of them will work, but you must use a 2GNT clutch housing as the Neon clutch housing is not the same.
Otherwise, its the same trans. As far as the T850 in the SRT4 goes.. i dunno. Never seen one, might fit, might not. Stock alxes probably won't work with it.
