Well, not even a year on it, my ClutchMasters Stage 1 non-modular clutch, and Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel (w/ built on starter gear), a $883 assembly, is completely fried.

I can't even reuse the flywheel and just buy a new contact surface for it because the whole thing warped do to the heat.

Can anyone figure out why this happened??? My pedal was adjusted correctly and had 1-3mm of play between the pedal stop (as stated in the Chilton's manual). It wasn't my driving or anything, because my stock clutch had 135k miles on it and still had plenty of friction material on the disk.

Edit: Just remembered, also the rear main seal, and input shaft weren't leaking.

Yeah, you can see the blueing on the friction surfaces from the excessive heat. Only one thing causes that kind of heat buildup- too much slipping..Why it was slipping, I don't know..Did you ever feel it slip at all? Do you slip the clutch alot when taking off from a stop? Do you slip the clutch on a hill to "hold" the car? I would guess a leaking oil seal, but you said you didnt see any oil at all?? From the pics, it looks kinda oily, but its hard to tell...It could be a hydrolics issue, like your master or slave cylinder hanging up, and not fully releasing the clutch..Also, from the pics, looks like the clutch disk material is worn down far enough to be exposing the rivits..that will destroy the PP and flywheel surfaces in a heartbeat..So really, either your disk worn down very, very quickly, and then the rivits tore up your PP and fly, or you have severe slipping going on, wearing out your disk prematurely..either way, too much slipping was going on there.

/me wonders if the Findanza Eclipse non-modular flywheel matches an Eclipse ClutchMasters non-modular PP and clutch disk.

It should..What does the front of your PP say? Should be stamped on the front cover, either "luk" or "sachs"...It should say "luk"..er that flywheel will only bolt up to a Luk properly..clutch disks are all the same..
