in most gears above 3rpms i hear a whistling/turbo spooling kind of a noise. higher the rpms, louder it gets.. im pretty sure its coming from the trans, but im not 100% sure.. doesnt make the noise below 3rpms, or just cruising, only when i start to get on it...especially if i down shift.. any ideas would help..

i hear that noise, not so much as before from my engine accessories, ie, alternator/ps pump

it's reduced now because i'm not running my a/c compressor or using the tensioner.. just a thought

you could be low on fluid (if it indeed is the transmission)
