Exactly how important is that the paper/form gasket between the master cylinder and the firewall be replaced when replacing the master cylinder? :shrug

It's so important, my first thought when reading your question was "There's a gasket? I don't remember any gasket."

That's what I figured, but just wanted to make sure it doesn't serve some secret service that would screw up something. I already replaced the master cylinder using the old gasket and just was double checking after hte fact. Thanks for your input. :thumbsup

I replaced mine last summer, and have been gasket-less w/ NO problems.
You will be fine.

Uhhhhhh... Gasket? Ah well, didn't bother putting one in when I did my tranny swap.
