I have a problem. Driving home today, I downshifted from 5th to 4th and lots of grindage happened, then I couldnt get it to go back into 5th. So I pull off the side of the road and shut the car off. With the car OFF, my clutch and shifter felt normal. I turn the car ON, and the clutch is really hard to push in and I cant get the shifter to go in any of the gears and all reverse did was grind. Tried this a couple times. So I put the car in 1st and start it. While trying to get it to start, the whole car is jerking and freakin out, so you have to give it gas to start moving. Shifting all the way up to 5th, the clutch was really hard to push and it didnt want to shift at all. And I still cant downshift or come to a stop because my car dies. And sometimes when it dies, my shifter will be stuck and I have to pull the fuck out of it to go back into neutral. So..... what the hell is wrong now? HELP!

Check the clutch master fluid level, along with the clutch master cylinder, and slave cylinder for leaks. Have someone push on the clutch pedal, and look at the slave cylinder- it should move outward when the pedal is pressed.

Well.... i checked the clutch master fluid level and it was fine, and the slave cylinder moved like it was supposed to. I had the car running and was looking around to see if anything was leaking, but didnt see anything. I bleed the slave cylinder. Started like normal, and could go through the gears like normal. Took it for a drive and it was fine for like a minute. Then the clutch got hard to push and wouldnt want to shift gears. So it was normal for a bit, but now its back to trouble. Im not really sure what to do now. The guy at the auto parts store said maybe the throw-out bearing, or something about the teeth on the pressure plate I think he said. HELP!

Edit - When I filled up the fluid, it was kinda nasty lookin. I dumped it out and filled it back up and it was clear. Cant remember what I did then, played with the clutch or something and checked the fluid again and it was nasty looking. Maybe I have some junk in the lines or something? Is that causing it to mess up?

it sounds throw out bearing related (like the throw out bearing is frozed up on the sleave. you will need to remove yoru transmission to fix it, and more than likely buy a new throw out bearing and grease it.
