My spedometer decided to quit working on me, I brought it by a shop and they told me that my two speedsensors were bad. And wanted to charge me $215.00 to fix. Well i figured if someone could show me a pic or help explain to me where they are, I'm sure I could replace them myself and save some money. Has anybody replaced their speed sensors on their n/t? If so, would you mind helping me out a bit?

Speed sensor is on the back of the transmission. You'll need to remove yoru battery, and the tray. It's on the back top, between where the axles go into the differential portion of the transmission.

Unplug it, unbolt it pull it, and put it back in. Fairly easy, just watch the ring gear on it.

To the trans section we go.

Be VERY CAREFUL removing the speed sensor from the trans case. The pinion gear on it is free floating, held in place by two small hooks. If you yank it out too hard, you can pop the gear off. if you lose the gear in the trans, you get to drop the trans to fish it out.
