I put in a new motor in my car, like a week after we put it in we herd this kind of clinking when it idled…I was like sh*t, not ANOTHER rod knock (hence the reason why I rebuilt my motor). I played with it and it didn’t seem like a rod knock, so then I figured out when I push in the clutch the noise went away completely when I released the clutch……….Clink….Clink…Rattle…Clink…..so I was like wtf? The car drove fine, and the all 5 gears felt fine...I thought about it and I thought for sure it had to be the throw out bearing… so I took it down to the shop, they looked at it and 2 of those prongs were it hooks in, were fuc*ed up. So they replaced it put back in the tranny but the noise came back again! It didn’t solve the problem…. Im trippen….The mechanic said he thinks he might be a bearing with in the tranny it self, so he is going to take apart the tranny and look…
Im wondering what you guys think it could be cause im fresh out of ideas..

i would believe that. its more than likely the bearing on your input shaft.

when you hit the clutch the input shaft bearing will stop spinning.

I had that problem when I had a fidanza flywheel and clutchmasters stage 1 clutch, I'm back to stock now and the noise is gone.

Could also be your throwout bearing rattling around. You may want to get under your car with it running and play with the shift fork and see if there's excessive play.
