Anyone running the spec stage 3 clutch?

i have one laying right next to me, does that count?

I just got mine in this weekend. So far I like it, I can tell that it grabs really hard. What do you need to know?

I just want to know if the pedal takes more effort when engaging. mine doesn't feel any different from my oem clutch.

I am not suprised, mine feels about the same. It may be a little more stiff than mine was, but my stock clutch was pretty soft. I have heard that the SPEC Stage 3 was actually softer than stock, especially until it gets broke in.

I was just on the phone with SPEC ordering my stage 3 modular clutch. They have great customer service! My order is being shipped overnight so I'll have it in the morning! Yay! They said that light chatter and slightly rough engagement is normal during the first 1000 miles. It will smoothen out as it breaks in. The clutch pedal should remain fairly light with this clutch. Also, they don't rivet the modular clutches, so they are re-buildable. I can't wait! :thumbsup

hey i've been runn' my stage 3 for almost 2 yrs now and yes it is very light and i still have lots of chatter when trying to slip the clutch... grabs very hard and performs well...

install isn't all too hard it took me and my bro in law 6 hours to dismanlte and 4 hours to put it all back together, not being properly prepaired and going in blind...

if i ever get another clutch it will be spec

Ugh, if I knew how much clutch chatter would be involved with this thing I would've never bought it. It's an excellent clutch for racing because like /\ said, it grabs well but the chatter is sooooo annoying for daily driving.

I really don't think the clutch chatter is that bad. It seems to get worse after I get on it real hard and light up the tires. I don't think that it is unbearable though, overall I am very happy with the clutch.

i have this cluch in a non-modular configuration with a fidanza flywheel. i've put about 700 miles on it and it still doesn't feel 100% broken in yet, for example sometimes it will slip at 15+ psi, sometimes it will grab. it seems to depend on the alingment of the planets.

the pedal will feel VERY light for the first 300-500 miles or so. it will feel almost like there is no cluch fluid in the lines. eventually the spring things inside of the clutch will stiffen up to the firmness level of the stock clutch. it will not get any firmer.

noone that i know of other then proclutch.com uses stronger pressureplates for the 420a noones progressed a need for it advanced materials over come the need for high clamp loads...

Well, maybe the fact that you don't know about them is correct.

So who does make an upgraded pressure plate??? I have looked it at it several times and the only way to truely get 50% or more clamp load would be to cast your own pressure plate. Is that what they do?
