I have a chance at getting a blown tranny for free. Nothing internally was blown, but the casing is cracked. Should i take the thing for free, or is it just more junk to pile up.
What could I use off of it?

where is it cracked? you could use parts out of it. I know matt95tgs is looking for a core diff for lsd conversion. If you can get it for free do it. If you don't want it hook me up! I can email you a fedex airbill to ship it to me. :thumbsup

Take it. No questions, fucking take it. There's so many great hard parts in there that will come in handy someday (for someone) to not take it. That's the interesting thing about transaxles - one thing can break and render the unit useless, but 90% of the trans will be fine otherwise. Heck, it's just nice to have spare parts.. Learn how to take it apart and put it back together, that way if you ever have trouble, you have the knowledge and the parts.

Yea, if you are willing to let the diff go, I am looking for a core. I just need one to send in to have retrofited. Once I install it, I would send my stock one back to you. It would be a pretty easy way to make a couple bucks :).
