the actuall modifications are pretty straight forward, but taking everything apart is quite a project. and very messy. even with a big tub i still managed to make a huge mess. you dont use a lot of the stuff that came with the kit.

ive taken a few pictures along the way, to maybe help you guys get an idea of where/how things go. corbin, if you want to add them to your write up that would be cool. i can add a few suggestions to the write up too once im all finished, or maybe even make one up myself.

pretty much all i have left is the installation, which i believe will be the hardest part.

it would be done tonite, but with the valve body halfway out of the tranny, the power in my neighborhood decided to go out! so im sitting under my car w/ transmission fluid dripping on my face in pitch blackness.

wow that is wierd. My power was out today to. where u from?

hmm, on the reassembly, does the green spring go in the o/d or u/d piston? or doesnt it matter?



and ^^, i live on the west side of MI. big ice storm the past couple days.

I was told by the tech guy that is doesn't matter which spring goes where. I put mine in the O/D piston though.

Edit: How do you guys make such a mess when you take off the tranny pan? Alol I have ever used was a normal oil catchpan and I've never gotten shit on the floor. Do you just pull it all off at one time?

yea, everything is cool. thanks for the response with the springs. i bolted everything up, then realized i forgot to connect the park rod. so i started to drop the VB again, and the freaking accumulators fell out. and i dropped a ratchet on my face, so im calling it a night lol!

i have a couple full days of work ahead, so it looks like the eclipse is gonna chill on some jack stands for the next few days.

as for the mess, i manage to get tranny fluid ALL over the garage floor every time.

yep, i did get the drain plug, a few magnets, new filter, and thats about it for now. the actual modifications with the kit were really easy. i made the holes as large as specified with the kit too. so we'll see what kind of improvements i get.

anyway, once i get it all figured out, ill drop a message, and maybe put together a write up!

I so want to do this soon, but had a snow/ice storm this weekend that ruined my ideas :( It should warm up soon tho, hopefully.

Where did you or are going to mount your filter? I mounted mine on top of my battery tray.

im not going to have this done till tuesday evening. im tied up with work until then... ill definately post hte results when im done, and if i have some time i can make a write up to make things a little easiert for everyone.

as for the tranny cooler, i was planning on mounting it behind the drivers side vent near the bumper. in front of where your SMIC would normally go w/ turbo. we'll see though.
