Alright heres the deal. By all accounts the transmissions in our cars suck, both manual and auto, and thus I want to swap it out. I plan on doing the manual swap, seeing as I'm running auto, and want to look into another transmission. So what transmissions fit the 420A block? And I don't mean just the standard swaps like to a neon transmission, I want to know all of them, all the ranges of choices I have and which ones are the most aggressively geared. Among others I'm interested in the Tiburon transmission if anyone knows anything.

What fits and what can be made to fit is a completely different story.
How much money do you want to spend?
How good are your fabrication skills?
What mods do you have/plan to have that make these transmissions unusable

Whats wrong with the neon tranny swap? What's wrong with the manually tranny? I consider these trannies to be just fine for their application. Mine auto is going strong being beat to hell for the last 10 years.
Ive had an extra tranny cooler on since just about day 1 and haven't every had a tranny problem.
