I just bought a 95 gst eclipse for 600 buck with tranny problems..The tranny makes no sounds going into D and does not drive foward.. It shifts into R fine tho, no problems there. I know its totaly diffrent trannys but what you guys think? I belive it could be a end clutch or sumthing. Thx fellas

Just swap in a manual and be done with it :P But really it sounds like you're going to have to tear that tranny down if you want to keep using it, it's gotta be something common to all the drive gears (I can't get a picture of auto inside into my head, just stuck on manual internals)

I bet you could pick up a replacement automatic for less than rebuilding that trans (unless you did it yourself). The AT for our engine often sells for $150. Yours is likely to be similar in price. I imagine a rebuild would be several hundred bucks (and they would want to install it). Or this is a chance to swap in a manual. Not the cheapest thing, but remember all the money you saved on the car itself.

what ^^^ said, I wouldn't be pissed either, if someone offered me a GST with a blown tranny for $600, Id jump on it faster than Id jump on a Victoria Secret model. Just swap a Manual in and have fun with the car.

I highly doubt that!
