Hi I was going through the eclipse Haynes manual and it says that you should change the tranny oil filter every 30000 miles or 24months. Is that true by any chance?

probably,
BUT Im on 100K miles and only changed it once and its shifting like a dream still.
Ive actually heard is bad to change it too often...

50-70 k or 24months and you'll be fine
