3390, GREAT! Now I have tranny problems.

I'll tell you what if it isn't one thing its another...but most of us already understand that phrase here.

It seems my transmission is starting to have a mind of its own. This morning I leave my g/f's to go home to get ready for work. I warm the car up, take off cars shifting fine no problems go down the road a few blocks, make a righthand turn...as soon as I turned and went to hit the gas to keep going...THUD! car stalls. So I'm like hmmm okay it just stalled I'll start it back up...I start the car and put it into gear and again...THUD! car dies. It did this a few times until I was able to get it take off and when it would take off it seemed like the transmission went haywire, extremely awkward shifts and it would bog down real low before jumping into high acceleration. When I would come to another stop sign and try to take off...THUD! car dies same thing over until I get it going again.

You kinda see the pattern and I have no idea wtf is going on, only thing I can think of is the trans computer. I have a 3,000 stall torque converter and had to convert to a 95' TCM to accept the stall so I wouldnt be driving in limp mode with a 96'.

I get home and get ready for work, then I go back out there and start her up and put her into gear and its fine, takeoff is normal...I didn't trust driving to work with it so I only drove it a short distance around the house. I really wish my car was a 5spd now, but I can't afford that for a long time.

Not considerably cold, about 40 degrees probably. I've drove it in colder like this and never had a problem until now.

I'm clueless on this one, but I'm pretty sure its blown to fuck and is going to cost some serious $$$ to get fixed. I went over all sensors/connections tranny related and everything seems to be good in that area. I checked my fluid and its loooking a murky grey color which lets me know somethings not looking too good.

Just when I thought I was getting a break with this car, what happens the fucking tranny goes. To hell with the A604.

Im clueless as to what broke, 130k on this tranny. I don't think it took the shift kit install too well.

Theres obviously some metal to metal contact if the fluid turned a grey tintish color. I don't think there is any red tint to it at all now as a matter of fact. The car cannot be driving any faster than idle speed. The 1-2 shift is VIOLENT, as in the whole car jerks.

I'll probably have a torque converter, remote filter, and tranny cooler for sale soon.

did it only start doing this after your shift kit installation?

were you very careful with the plate you bore out in the valve body? did you drill the holes in the correct places and to spec in directions?

did you install some magnets in the bottom of your pan as well when you did the shift kit? and have you changed fluids since you noticed it was dark grey?

I did everything in the shift kit installation correct...I'm positive of this. I did not put any additional magnets in. Next step is to drop the pan, add magnets, flush fluid and see what happens.
