Hi folks,

I'm not mechanically inclined, so please bear with me. I own a 95 Talon ESI and I recently had the tranmission (auto) rebuilt. The major problem was solved and the tranny works now, however the shift timing seems off which loses alot of speed when I accelerate. Since the tranny job it is shifting a little late. I noticed a substantial different in the acceleration. Highway driving is fine, but city driving is a real pain. I'll jam my foot on the gas and it just takes its good old time to accumulate any speed. Definately not as quick as it was before the job.

Anyways, the rebuild is covered under a 1 year warrantee. How big a job is it for them to adjust the timing? I'm just wondering if they would take care of something like this.

I already had the fluids checked and verified that the proper fluid was used by the shop.

I guess I was just wondering if there was an way to set the shift timing for an automatic car without having to rip the tranny apart.

you may have used the right fluid, but did the shop check to make sure all of the fluid pressure levels were correct?

Might just be normal, you cant adjust the shift timing, these are adaptive transmissions and will change depending on your driving.
How long ago did you have it rebuilt. it might take a week or so to adapt to your driving

could you elaborate on the adapability of them? like, does my transmission know i like to bring first up to like ~4200 then let off after it shifts?
