I have a 1997 GS auto. The car shifts fine in normal driving, but when it shifts at red line, it makes this wierd kazoo like sound. I rarely get on it but when I do I cringe and worry when I hear this whizzing sound. Any ideas on what it might be?

(p.s. it sounds like the sound is coming for the passenger side...)

my exhaust used to sound like it was farting when i shifted at redline n/a :) sort of like it was wheezing. is that what your talking about?

No, this sounds like a kid with a kazoo is playing in my passenger side wheel well whenever the car shifts.

My girlfriends Cavalier does this, but only between 2000 and 3000 RPM's. I haven't figured out what it is. I guess I didn't help, but I thought I would throw that in.
