Check your fluid. If your low you need to add some, then immediately take your car to Jiffy Lube to get the transmission flushed with a new filter. Also, it might be a collapsed filter. The correct tranny fluid to use is ATF3. Fluid problems is the number one problem in our tranny.:-(
EDIT: Try resetting your tranny computer, by disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes.

Sounds to me like the linkage broke, check the cable from the tranny all the way to the shifter.

thanks for the replys, the tranny fluid level is low so i'll add more but i can't bring it any where because it won't go into drive or anything i would have to get it towed!
also the cable is good cause when i put the car in "R" the reverse lights go on but the car doesn't move. and when i hit the gas it just revs up.

yep could be the fluid but it would have to be pretty low, but its possible.
doesnt sound good though, if youve been running really low on fluid you could have burnt stuff up internally.
If filling the fluid works I would have it checked out, esp the clutch volume index, it can be accessed by a MUT2 tool that the dealership has

If you drain the pan, you need to add about 5 qts.

ok i got it got drive and it seams fine but it's leaking really bad. it's coming from the back of the transmission, it looks like a plate that has about 10 10mm screws on it.it's not the tranny pan it's mounted vertically on the back of the transmission. could anyone tell me what that part holds and what kind of gasket it that?
thanks

the differential is in there. its held on by a bunch of 10 mm bolts and the gasket is black rtv.

black rtv is just a silicone type sealant. if you take off that cover, you just need to clean the surfaces and put a small bead around the pan, and reseal. you *might* be able to do it with the trans in the car if you get creative with a jack and take off a motor mount or two.
*yes you can get it at autozone.
