what causes these to go out??? Just curious because my fiancee just had hers replaced about 8 months ago. Her tranny is stuck in "limp" mode again so i'm guessin speed senors went south...again. Any insight would helpful...just want to know what causes them to take a shit.

There are two sensors an input and an output sensor. I would think they probably only replaced one and then the other later went out. This si very common. The sensor usually last a while before they simply die but when one goes out the other will follow shortly after. If the input sensor goes out the car just drops to limp mode with no other signs. If the output sensor goes out then the speedo will stop working.

well she had both of them replaced at the same time. I reset the ecu and it fixed it for about a day. Any ideas???? other than the speed sensors? I dont know the A/T that well so any insight would be great! TIA

go to autozone and pull the codes, it could be another sensor, solenoid pack sticking,etc..

well I took it out on the highway and she has all of her gears. she also still has overdrive so I'm starting to think it is just the switch or the OD light. I've searched for this but no luck. Is the switch known to go out or the light??? oh yeah and the fuild is nice and pink so if that helps...TIA
