Found that online trying to explain to someone how it works. The guy's being adamant that a locking TC is good for power...

a locking TQ is good for gas milage, not for power.
a locking TQ typically causes a loss of engine revs during the lockup stage, that will lower times (hence why the non-lockup TQ mod is GOOD) a locking TQ was created for gas milage and to reduce transmission fluid temps

Yea I agree this place is a freaking dungeon, no one ever posts ~_~ about anything, and if they do it's just repeating what others say. btw mcgyvr no offense to you.

maybe the reason people keep repeating themselves is the simple fact that

a) there isnt much to do with this trans .. besides cooler ... temp guage ... drive gears .. and lock up mod ..

b) people dont want to blow things .. so they ask again ..

c) trying to be helpful and reposting old things

aren't the big ATX mods ... hi-stall torque convertor ... shift kit ... better/new clutch pack ... and maybe an LSD?

Those are what I've been saving up for, I was just thinking about the cooler and gauge as necessary prevention.

I can't seem to kill my ATX so might as well mod it until it burns up I guess. }(

thats evil.... :) what did the ATX ever do to you ??

I've noticed that there really isnt much to the Auto tranny but it does help that there are repeated posts for us n00bs that dont know much about the tranismisson themselves.
