And once again, I will be attending. Hopefully, more than SIX PEOPLE x( will show up!

So, once again, to encourage people to attend, I am issuing another proclamation:

I hearby challenge anyone with an all motor (I.E. no turbo, no nitrous) 2GNT to either

A. beat me in a heads up drag race (if we get a chance to run), or

B. run a faster time than me at the shootout this year.

It will be nearly impossible to get many head to head races, so most likely it will just have to be who runs the fastest during the day. I tried this for the last two years in an effort to get more people to show up, hopefully accepting my challenge.

Well, let's see if you can step up to the challenge and beat me! Go ahead and try your best!

I'll be there. I'll take you up on the offer and leave my car at home - i can probably RUN down the strip faster than you all motor guys! :-P

The the Best Western is going to be 2gnt central? I am going to try and make it this year, but a lot will depend on how my car does this spring. If I start having problems like last year I may just chuck the whole thing and buy an M3. The rules are pretty simple this year too. It doesn't look like there's going to be a NA class at all. :o Here are this years rules:


General rules:
No classes will be allowed to use NOS except the
bracket classes and Q16. All classes must use a DOT
approved tire except FWD, Bracket and Q16. All classes
are required to run full interiors, exhaust and are
not allowed to use lexan windows except for Bracket
and Q16. All classes except for Bracket run on .400
Pro Tree.

Here are the actual classes:
FWD-All years, general rules.

STOCK APPEARING-1G and 2G cars. NO FMIC's, NO external
wastegates, stock appearing turbos (TD05 style turbos
allowed on all), stock fuel pressure regulators, no
headers, stk appearing exhaust manifold, must retain
front and rear seats, aftermarket seats allowed. The
idea is to keep the car simple and still appear stock.

DSM ELIMINATOR-1G and 2G cars. General rules only.

BRACKET 1-0-12.99. No rules. .500 full tree.

BRACKET 2-13.00 and up. No rules. .500 full tree.

Q16-In the past this was an 8 car class. No full tube
chassis cars. Other than that anything goes.

3000GT/STEALTH-General rules only.

You're on, Todd. I won't strap that turbo on until after the shootout. Or maybe I will take it off just for the wonderful event. Either way, Todd, you are GOING DOWN! You didn't say which motor, you just said "all motor 2GNT" which I have right now.

So does this mean that if you have an HRC kit slapped on you can;t run that class? Seeing as how we don;t have "stock" regualtors nor stock appearing manifolds?

I seem to forget that they can care less about anything that doesn;t have a 4G63 under the hood...:nono

Yeap!!! I'm goin for sure..Got my room at Best Western already! Here is their phone: 419-663-3501 Rooms are running for the night of the 18th: 109.95 per room, and the night of the 19th: 129.95 per room. Not cheap for a BW, but hey, it WILL be 2gnt centrral! The shootout last year was lots of fun, and watching the drags really opens your eyes to how fast these 4 bangers can really get. Watching Buscher's yellow 1200+HP RWD talon run low 8's is incredible :O To maybe help some people into going, I will try to post up some video of last year's shootout. I have a good 40 minutes of video, and plan to make several parts and post them every 2 weeks, up until the shootout. So stay tuned for that. Hopefuly it will encourage lots of us to get out there!

I'm definitely going to be there again this year. Hopefully I will be able to stay the whole weekend this year. Last year, I brought along some family members and they wanted to return home after I got eliminated. I'm like WTF! I will be booking a room at the BW as well.

I'm in for the N/A race if I can get the time off of work and get a flatbed to haul my car over there.

If I can't make it we'll have to match up timeslips.

Is there any way we can set up a time and place for all 420's to met each morning to go in together? maybe butcher will get the idea if 20-30 420's all roll in at the same time. I am going to try and get a few other people to come with me also.

Well if that many showed up, it would be a first. That's why there is no nt class anymore - lack of participants. Personally, I want to whip some 4g63 ass. I wonder if I could tow my 2g up there with my 1g AWD???

Last year, everyone got 2 time trials before the competition began, so getting heads up races will be problematic.

Bill, go ahead and run your 2.4L!!! 0.4L of extra displacement isn't a gaurantee of victory. My car isn't a rocket, but it's no slouch either.

As for what does the winner get? Bragging rights I guess :7

yeah icedout butcher=buschur incase you could not tell I don't like the man. I am going to whop all ass and run a 13 all motor haha just come and watch if you don't think it will happen (worth a shot to try and con people into coming :7 )

.4L won't guarantee my victory, but my winning should. :D I think that the extra .4L will make up for my 16s. Other then that, I have you matched, mod for mod, well, once the cam gears show up and I install them. Then there is the issue of the ECU. I will have a trick up my sleeve by then.
We will see who takes the prize home.
It will be a long drive back to New England for a little Red RS...

Well I'm booked, but No guarantees. I hated missing last years, two years ago was a blast. Todd, Chris, Armond, Jeff... Hopefully money will be looking better by then, and I'll be out there. Just can't have a year like last one. But I have a room set aside for me at the mighty Best Western.

For Todd... Give me a run like last year and I won't miss 3rd...

Maybe. I'm driving north on thursday night, staying at my in-laws thursday and friday, going to Norwalk on saturday, staying at the BW saturday night, and leaving for the in-laws again on sunday night.

Does that fit into your schedule at all?
