The moderators have been discussing the shootout in length recently, and we have all decided that we want this year to have a huge 2GNT turnout. In the past, many people have said they would be going, but nobody ever shows up. This year there will be a little more incentive. We will be creating a separate section on the main site (www.2gnt.com) for those members who show up at the shootout. This section will have pictures, bios, and mods lists of the people who actually do attend the event. If you race or show your car, you may find that your page is slightly longer and more in-depth than those who merely show up and watch.

Hopefully that area of the site will be full of nice pictures and information about everyone's cars! I will be taking pics with my 3.2 megapixel digital camera at the event, so that is the only way you will be getting them on the site. Hope to see you all there.


Basically consider this a chance to have your own magazine article type spread on the internet. Pictures, info, etc.


Qualifications for the site:

-You must be an active 2GNT member. This means you have to be registered and posting.
-You must show up at the Shootout. Racing or showing your car helps!
-Active members without 2GNTs count too! This means 1st generation and 2nd generation turbo DSMs, Zx2s, Avengers, Neons, Mustangs, etc. While non-Diamond Star members will not be able to race, you can still be featured!

I have to drive the truck tho, because the car is in the body shop in weeks until prolly june/july. besides, my mileage is high and i dont trust that long of a drive until i put the new block and kit in. so does that count for me? I'm interested!

Mike, you could probably have the whole trip paid for just by towing people around when you are up there.

I still won't know for sure until about 2 weeks from now or until I find out what kind of job I will have.

I also have a METALLICA concert on the 28th so I might be able to just stay in Minnesota on my way back and catch that. Might work out pretty good.

The wednesday evening before the Shootout weekend, Thura and i are leaving Houston. We'll stay over at my dad's place in Baton Rouge LA wednesday night. Anyone from BR who is going to the SO can meet us there and caravan. From BR, we're heading north on Thursday morning and not stopping (except for gas, nature, and smokes for me) until we hit Springfield, IL and JasonESi-T's house. Since we have a gratious invite, Thura and I are cool - anyone else may have to sleep in their car :P . Friday morning, we head east to Norwalk...

That's the tentative plan we've laid out. If anyone else is planning to go that is along our route, email me and i'll provide you my cell number and you can caravan with us.

I can't wait! I've kept count of the number of times and the number of people that have told me, "Dude, i owe you a beer for this." I'm coming to collect! :-)

Tonight, I am going to swap coil packs and try to start it. If it starts, then I will pull the head, put the SRT-4 pistons in, and button it all back together. I just need timing belt parts and head studs. Dang... At least I will be able to run boost soon.

i really want to go but dont want to go alone. I have never been and dought the woman will go cause by then she will be 6.5 months pregnat. If any mass or new england peeps can give me so info on directions cash needed hotels stuff like that it would be cool, also I would drive if some 1 wanted to come for the ride cause It is long and would really suck if by yourself.
