99194, FS: 95 ESi $1200 OBO w/pics, located in Michigan Posted by ShadowRuleZ, Oct-04-06 09:42 AM
The car is a 95 Talon ESi with an early eclipse front end (not the 97-99 style). Car is black, hood/front bumper green; I also replaced the front fenders and passenger door with replacements that are black, but with a bit of peeling paint. I did this since the tips of the front fenders were bent, and the door looked like it got opened into a pole (gas station?). It has a new radiator, and a new timing belt at 142k. Car currently has 156k on it. Only rust is on the strut towers. 2.0l DOHC 420a and automatic transmission. Grey interior. 2 new tires on the front. I can get above 30 miles to the gallon on the highway. Air worked last year, but not this year - it seems the compressor doesn't engage. New alignment and battery as well. Transmission does act up a bit; downshifting into first gear is rather hard, I put it in neutral at stops and manually downshift the transmission. It also chatters a bit when it's under a slight load, it may be a trans/motor mount that is bad. Once it gets going (~2200 RPM or so), it upshifts and goes fine. It also needs an IAC, it has a fluctuating idle.
Cruise control works, but the switch is a bit flakey (once it's on, it stays on, but getting to turn on is bit odd).
I daily drive this everyday until I got a good deal on my Audi. It never got better, and it never got worse.
Car is in Farmington Hills MI, zip code 48335. Available almost any day after 5. $1200 or best offer. Drive it home. Clear title.

If you already have an audi why dont you just tear apart the talon and slowly rebuild it

I don't want the talon anymore, I already have a project car (I'm putting a 383 SBC in my g-body).
