I Have my white 96 talon that I really dont need anymore. Car runs great, excellent mileage, a perfect winter car for some of you that dont want to drive your baby in the salt.
Car is a 96 Eagle Talon 420a N/A 5 speed. Cloth interior, no power doors at all. Has a Sony CD player. Passes emissions, needs no work to be reliable.
The Bad: G/F drove that car and rear ended a p/u truck. Damage is very minor. Drivers fender is dented. edge of hood was affected by the fender. Heavy scratch in piller where fender pushed into it. I replaced the door and had it painted. Front bumper cover has paint that has peeled from it.
If you really wanted to fix the damage from that accident you would need a fender, hood and a-piller can be refinished. Paint the bumper, fender, hood, pillar and its fine.
Where are any rust spots? the decklid has a small spot where the sploiler normally would mount. This car doesnt have any spoilers. You can see minor rust creaping in the seam by the drivers rear tire. Small trace of rust in the seam of the front bumper and pass fender. If the car wasnt white you probably wouldnt notice some of it.
Car was repainted 3 years ago by Maaco. Actually came out looking decent but I paid a lot for base/clear coat urethane. Color is also changed to 1996 Mercedes Polar white. Car was originally white so you dont see a color change. All jambs painted ect.
Interior is complete and in great shape. No holes in any seats.
Motor runs great, starts every time. Has a small oil leak that 420a's are notorious for. In 2002 I replaced the ECU, LDP, Crank sensor, and Coil. ECU was done by the dealer for a warrenty at the time. Warrenty has expired obviously. Trans shifts fine, no leaks, clutch is less than 50k on a stock replacement. ECU does not require a ML or FCD.
Suspension.. .has new brakes, Lower lateral joints are only 2 years old 40k on them. No idea if the recall was ever done, i just bought them before i was aware of the recall.
Only looking to get 1700.00 OBO, if i part it out thats what I can expect from the driveline. The car does not need anything to be a reliable driver.
The car is very fast, it will eat up any John Deer on the road. lol
