76136, FS: 97 GS turbo eclipse (forged internals, close to 300whp)

I think the car has reached it's limits on the streets, and I am now interested in an awd car, so i am selling my baby.

It is a 97 GS eclipse with a star stage II turbokit. Here is my cardomain for it:

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/599380

Has a rebuit engine with JE pistons, Eagle rods, 8.6 compression to be able to boost much safer. Basically the howell automotive rebuilt kit (thats actually the kit I used). Also I have the hahn portfueler, which works amazing, and I dyno'd as u can see in my cardomain 296whp at 18psi, more than enough for the streets, puts more horsepower to the wheels than cars in the 30k range do to the CRANK, such as a 350z, or even the evo.

Has many misc mods and guages like turbo timer, EGT guage, boost guage ofcourse, an amazing system that made 146 decibals, u can look at the details of that in my cardomain site. has a 3" catback exhuast, with the 2.5" dp it came with from star, and has a 2.5" testpipe instead of that nasty stock cat. PM me for further details I am just listing everything i can think of off the top of my head.

I have the phantom grip (LSD) which i will include with the car, it is waiting to go in but i decided to sell before i did the tranny up. I saved as many reciepts as i could in a file I can show u, has lots of money sunk into it. Had 104k before the rebuilt, and has now been rebuilt for about 2,000 miles, the bottom end will dish out what ever u throw at it and I have a fuel system thats proven to work (hahn portfueler 8 injector setup, with 415cc's as the secondaries, all tuned for ya as u can see on the dyno sheets).

Some pictures:

cell phone pictures ^ excuse the quality

And for the dyno numbers...

Asking 12,000 OBO. PM me with any questions.

how many miles did you put on the motor before you boosted it after the rebuild?

I believe 5-600 but he can better answer the question. I can vouch for the car and Jimmy seeing how i see him/it alot. Very nice car indeed.

Actually I followed the procedure the shop gave me. After the rebuilt I had the boost set to 8psi and let it boost normally up to 500 miles. Never brought the rpm's over 5.5k. Then oil change, then I wouldn't let it go above 6,500 and more normal driving for the next 750 miles, but let the engine work hard at times by putting it say in 3rd gear at low rpm's and let it climb it's way up. Few more oil changes, and after finishing the break in, I uped the boost a bit and was ready to have it dyno tuned.

Also I forgot to mention I have a stage III clutch from titan motorsports that I was breaking in at the same time as the engine rebuilt.

I just checked the mileage, the car now has 107,450 miles. So about 3,000 miles on the rebuilt motor almost.

10 G's, it doesn't look abused and appears to be in great shape.

Personally I think 10gs is about the top but thats me, honestly what I would do (it may be a lot of work) is find a stock 420a motor drop that in, sell the turbo kit and sell the longblock sepreartely, and then sell the car, but thats me, You at least have a 2gb GS so thats in your favor too, it is a lot of extra work but I think you might be able to make quite a bit more money that way imo

Wonder how much I could get for the engine and turbo with it...ppl buy that stuff here? heh, cause u guys would be the only ones i can sell it to, as everyone else that i know around here that's into performance has a 4g63.

If i was to do this, should i take the whole engine out with the turbo and fuel system intact, or part it out selling the built engine, fuel system, and turbo system seperately...i'm not sure what kind of demand there is for those things.

Depending on your price, i am already mildly interested in the block/turbo kit. plus id give you my block...

If nothing else, it shows that there will be interest in HipHops suggestion imo.

What do u guys think if i sell the engine for 1,500 / turbokit for 1,500 / and portfueler for 500? And car for 6,500- 7,000. Oh and a 3" strainless steel catback exhuast with testpipe for...100? Or the whole package (engine, turbo, fuel, etc) for 3,000. This would all be a last resort i'm just posting to see interest.

I think if you throw it on ebay you might be able to get more than $1500 for the Turbo Kit and $1500 for the Block (Maybe)
76298, RE: 97 GS turbo eclipse (forged internals, close to 300whp)
Posted by jimmy169, Jun-29-05 09:42 AM
I'm ganna try and sell the whole car on ebay first i guess, lol.

If you change your mind about the block let me know, i really am interested.

Im interested in the turbo kit also. I was actually talking with ajcfalcon about this about half an hour ago. We live pretty close to each other, so maybe you can save on some shipping and crate it all in one crate... lol

Yeah I am surprised at the demand for parting out my car right now, lol. Damn I wish someone was interested in the whole car this way. Thanx for letting me know again everyone, as I said i have to try and sell it whole but i'll let u guys know if i do decide to part it out.

i'll buy it whole for a hundred bucks, if you end up parting it out though i'm interested in the exhaust

Price reduced to 9,000. If any of your friends r looking to have a GS turbo eclipse for low insurance! You can probably part this thing out and make most of your money back!!

My turbokit was 3k as u all know. Rebuilt was 5k with labor. fuel was about 1k (hahn portfueler). My stereo was 2k. And there is loads of misc parts that go over 1k such as exhuast, turbo timer, guages, w/e else i'm forgetting!

So you going to do the Ebay thing? You should be able to get around $9k for it, its sad how such nice cars just arnt worth anything anymore.... =(
76381, RE: 97 GS turbo eclipse (forged internals, close to 300whp)
Posted by jimmy169, Jul-01-05 04:08 AM
Yeah I was thinking of putting it on autotrader, but alright i'll try the ebay thing i'm going on vacation anyway so it could be easier to just leave it up on ebay for a bit.

Alright guys, i'm thinking i'ma part out this car and return it to stock.

It's easier to sell an n/a car and parts then an n/a car thats been turbo'd. So if you'd like make offer on parts...i've pretty much got it all besides top end stuff, lol...

Posted by cs82685, Jul-01-05 02:27 PM
what type of exhaust, how much shipped to 07460, also would u be selling the engine as a whole and getting a completely stock 420a or what?
76414, RE: 97 GS turbo eclipse (forged internals, close to 300whp)
Posted by jimmy169, Jul-01-05 07:39 PM
I have a stainless steel 3" catback exhuast and a 2.5" testpipe instead of the cat.

I believe we r going to tear down the engine, not just take it out whole, but not sure yet. It depends on what u guys want i guess...

Maybe u guys can do some sort of group buy to save shipping? LOL w/e u guys want but take advantage of this offer i'm practically selling everything for half price!

no forged internals with 8.6 compression. I have the howell automotive performance rebuilt kit in there, but like i said it's sold unless something unforseen happens like i crash it or something!

I am going to have the car for about half a month more, but he is giving me a deposit sometime this week.
