I posted this in another section of these forums like an idiot ;) I realise that this is the second generation non-turbo forum, but I was wondering if anyone knows anyone selling a rebuilt or used 97-99 Eclipse GSX engine? My engine recently kinda went on me. The local mechanic shop I go to said they think it is a bad rod bearing (and possibly a warped crank). I'm having them make sure before I go and get a new engine or anything, but they recomend I get one just to be safe. They can get me one for around $4000. I'd like to find one for cheaper if I could. If anyone has one for sale or knows someone with one for a decent price let me know. Thanks.

Crankwalk only happens in rare conditions, it's just an overstated myth caused by the ignorance of dsmtuners. What the greatest % is around 7% for one year...Just rebuild your engine and make sure it is done right

Crank walk is very overly used, but if you have the chance might was well go with it to make sure it don't happen!

I found out a couple days ago that I'll only need to get a short block. My head, cams, etc are all OK. They had the head off and everything looks great. It all turns great too. The only reason I don't do this stuff myself is because I don't own a mechanics garage with all the tools and equipment. Is there anywhere else I can look for a good 6 bolt turbo short block along with www.dsmtrader.com and www.dsmtuners.com? Thanks for you help everyone and not ripping me a new one for posting a turbo question on this site. I figured I would get ripped when I first posted :)
