I am buying these hoods from a wholesaler who is going out of business and is getting rid of inventory. Numbers are limited. I can get predator 6 vent hoods or OEM carbon fiber hoods for $225.00 plus shipping. These hood are brand new but the Carbon fiber hoods need clear coat, the predator hoods are ready for paint. Hmmmmmm.....perhapse this dealer was direct with GTP International (Importfan.com)? You can see pics of the CF hood on my site in my sig.....t'other hood is a fiberglass hood, fitment looks to be great, you have ot move a few things to get it to fit 100%. I'm interested in the OEM Carbon hood but why does it need clear coat? I don't tunderstand this doesn't it usually come all set..An how much is shipping to 01854??

The clear coats have lil white flakes in them. Best way to describe is that someone was sanding something white in the room while the clear coats were drying. It varies in spots, could be right on the fiber, or it could be right on the outer layer. If you put a pearl over the clearcoat then it would prolly look like some flake in the clear coat.


you can sorta see them there. You cannot see any of the specs from more then a few feet away. And i have honestly not had anyone notice, except for my friend who does body work and is anal about stuff. Its a good deal. But think, for a few hundred more you can get a perfect VIS hood or sumthin. I went this route and am thrilled with the hood, but think before you make this decision.

too bad you don't have an OEM c/f hood for a 1g wif pop-ups. :-(

thats why the hood are discounted so much because they need a clear coat, its only about $50 at most body shops

Or you could *GASP* actually paint the CF hood to match the rest of the car!
