Hey all, havent really been here to regularly since the pits shut down. Anyway I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS with the back end pushed in up to the rear wheels and the passenger door also pushed in. other than that she's fine. The engine runs smooth and beautifully and the car even still ran until a sister's friend hooked up the battery and left the door ajar for a week. the battery wont hold a charge any more but if a good battery is bought up i'm sure she'll fire right up.

Anyway pretty much everything is for sale. originally someone was supposed to buy the engine but for some reason the guy seems to have just completely disappeared off earth. (bowling god you ok man?). But yeah, engine, trans, the whole thing, just make me an offer. the thing is that I'm currently busy with school and work so if anyone wants anything they'll have to come and uninstall it and take it themselves. I live in Oak Park,IL. Its right up against west side chicago. make me an offer on anything.

well grain if you really want the whole thing I can let the whole thing go complete for a grand. or if you belive you have a more apropriate value I can hear you out.

also, turbo8u, if i cant get rid of the whole car i can give you the fender real cheap no problem. thing is that it isnt really in perfect conditions paintwise. you just have to pick it up though and i think you live in cali.

How many miles on the motor and how much shipped to 08724? Very interested if the price is right.

I may be wrong but if the motor was sound he wouldn't be selling the whole thing for 1K.

Sometimes people sell things at a loss just to get rid of them. By the description Id assume the insurance company totaled the car, he bought it back cheap, got his stuff out of it and is trying to resell it.

extreme97nt. the motor has around 40,000 miles on it or so. The chassis has about 140,000. I had to get a new engine when my timing belt snapped and everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong. But i'm sorry, as I stated earlier I am rarely home where my car is. I have no time to take out the engine and ship it. You can however make me an offer and come get it yourself.
Scirio and Malenko. the motor is in excelent condition but the car itself is in very very rough condition. Although it still drives it still has pretty much irreversable damage to the rear and passenger door. The idea of body repair is out because it would cost more than the value of the car. As for insurance, I had liability only. Which means they pay for nothing. The car has been sitting at home for quite some time and it hasnt really been doing much. The mother is getting anoyed and I really have no idea what the value of the thing is. All I can hope for is that the engine ends up being another life for a 2gnt.
So if anyone want the whole car for a grand or pieces for whatever. MAKE ME AN OFFER. Oh and please remember I cant ship.
1995talon. yeah, um, unless your really desperate for a front bumper I really advise against buying my fascia. The years of lift snagging, parking block grinding, steep ramp scraping has really taken quite a toll.

oh yeah and is $1000 really that low for an eclipse in my condition? Its a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS. It's a manual trans with a 40,000 mile motor on a 140,000 mile body. It's got no headunit (Stolen when car was at impound lot after accident!) and the rearend has been crushed up to the rear wheels. Also the passenger door is pushed in but damage is limited to the door. Do a leaving 2GNT member a favor and give me an honest value. I got people tellin me I'll be lucky to get 800 or so.

Come now, there must be several people i the Chicago area that need parts. Come on, dont be shy.

i bought my 97 talon mtx great engine, body, and interior for 1600. so if you can think of a good price ill take it. i can fly up. you think it can make a 1300 mile drive? or else ill have to leave it in orland park.

Does it have rear brakes system calipers, etc, or is it just the drums? Those messed up?

Grain, it will run as long as its got gas. the only problem is that its got a brake light out and no rear bumper. why dont you go ahead and make a strait edge, young, kind fellow club member a friendly offer on my car that although wasnt much, still made me the happiest guy on the road. She'll run no problem. the damage is more cosmetic than anything.
Pfmicks, yeah the rear drums are all good man. All the major parts except the exhaust is still good for the most part.

Well Folks. Its happened again. My Eclipse is still for sale. Please anyone. I'll let it go for $800 for the whole thing. Please, I just charged up the battery and got her up this weekend. She drives beautifully. Even with no ass. Anyone who wants to buy the whole thing please do not hesitate. I do not want to go through the trouble of parting her out. But if there are some who really just want parts, well I'm listening.

You could probably modify them to work.

I'm about 1/2 hour away. Do you have the gauge cluster and rear cargo cover? Let me know...

Everyone else, If Red doesnt take the whole thing and no other "whole car buyers" show up then I'll have to take the time to start parting her out.

Dude I live in LaGrange, its right near you. If your still parting it Id buy out all your interior plastic trim peices, like the ones you can take out and paint, and your left and right stock a pillar peices.

-I do plan on purchasing this car. I do need a few parts (hood, FPR, coolant tank ,and AC) other than that everthing else is for sale. Please send all requests for parts to eclipse@ricesport.com and please put the part you would like in the subject line.

Also I live in Columbus, Ohio and will be traveling to Chicago to pick this up. I will be able to drop off any parts that aren't that far out of the way and as long as the parts aren't required for the car to run.
