this might sound strange, but I need a salvage title and vin plates off of a wrecked ass good for nothing pos 95 talon or eclipse. If you have a junked 95 dsm and can sell me the title and vin plates I would be very very happy. I live in nc and have a 96 that has to pass emissions and it aint going to happen. If it were registered as a 95 all I need is a safety inspection.thanks

Well i am reluctant to do this because its poss illegal but i do have a 95 title and dash. I know you dont want the entire dash but my point is i have that vin. I dont have the sticker that is under the hood, that is not removable without damaging it.

Are you sure you want to attempt this. if you get caught it could end up serious.

dont do this! i am a manager at an emissions testing program here in ohio, and cops put people who attempt this in jail for 2-3 years for this. this is not something i would do man. fork out the extra $100-$300 to fix your car to get it to pass.... OR go to jail for 103 years. especially in NC, i know they are more strict down there!

not sure how strict emissions places are....I dont have it here - But be careful as I've heard there is over 30 locations on the car where you can find the VIN...

there are 13 places on the eclipse where you can find the vin#

I know you can find the vin in lots of places, but when you have your car inspected the only one they ever look at is the dash, if they even look at that. They usually just read the vin off hte registration card and look at the car to make sure it looks like a 95 talon.

umm they look inside the door here in ohio. And mike you need to fire someone there, because someone stalled my car on the dyno there :P

ya we have some worthless monkeys that work where i do. find out there name or look at the inspection report.

alot this guy doesnt know though, when we look under the car for the converter, to make sure its there and not removed, on the white sticker in the door jam, there is an abbreviation of where there is colored round piece, real small piece, under the car. its like half the size of a bingo marker, we look for those too. usually they are up and by the gas tank. and there are 2 numbers in the vin# in which it tells other places to look for the dash. we type the vin # in our software, and look, it shows up where to look! you better be careful doing this. terry, if i was you, i wouldnt even get involved, lol.

oh im cool with fellow 2gnt's are the station. i help out a lot of other kids that come in too, as long as they arent assholes when they pull in, lol. inspections are pretty simple too, if your 96+ you get an obd2 test, 95 later gets ASM test on the dyno, fun fun!

look people, I know of at least 4 shops I can take my car to where if it is a 95 or below, they dont even look at the damn car, they just look at the registration and throw a damn sticker in the car. I know these people, I have worked at the shops, I could tell them it is a 96 with a 95 vin plate and they wouldn't give a shit. That being said, if you can sell me a vin plate and a junk title to a 95 I would greatly appreciate it, if you cant, please dont chime in with how many places you can find a vin and what shop does what because it is totally irrelevant to me.

WE ARE JUST LOOKING OUT FOR EACH OTHER MAN, IT COULD ALWAYS BACK TO WHOM EVER SOLD YOU THE VIN PLATE AND TITLE. PEOPLE IN YOUR STATE OBVIOUSLY DONT CARE ABOUT THEIR JOBS THEN SINCE THEY JUST LOOK AT YOUR REGISTATION AND SLAP A STICKER IN IT.
