66511, Judging interest in parting/selling 96 GS

I can't take it anymore...This is the second time my beater (94 caravan) had died on me within a week. Parents just paid $1,200.00 last week to have it fixed and now I have to pay Dodge $250.00 for a grand total of $1,450.00 ( we paid $1,500.00 for the car). I can't pay for the Eclipse payements and buy a new car together.

The car is a 96 Eclipse GS
-Je pistons/Eagle rods, Head ported/polished by Eddie Fierro,Clevet bearings, stock head bolts,MLS headgasket, stock valvetrain.
-Auto trans full rebuilt (minus HS torque converter and LSD)
-CF hood
-Z3 fenders
full gray interior

What do you guys think? I've never parted a car before and would prefer to sell the car whole but I need money BAD.

Well, if you decide to part it, I might be interested in the front seats, and the power door parts. mainly the window regulators, harness and motors, and the parts for the power locks. For that matter maybe the cruise too. Good luck though and I hope it all works out in the end.

I'd love to sell you all those parts but I have manual windows/locks and don't have cruise :(

motor might already be sold

Bad time of year. I want the rims but not worth swapping rubber and all the crap associated with it.

You might want to look into getting a more relible beater. i.e. not an 11 year old dodge minivan. :)

Are you auto? I'll buy the gauge glass for the stock instrument panel, and the gauge cluster overlays.

$3,500.00 for everything. You name it it's yours. The seats/tv/cf hood EVERYTHING. I think I'll sell the 5-speed with LSD seperate.

im interested in alot of the stuff, including the CF hood if you can take good quality, current pics of it and make a very honest description about the condition of the resin. also, see my WTB posts in here and see if you have anything in there i need, spped sensor, door lock actuator, etc) and send me a PM and/or email if you part it out

Well, someone in this thread is interested in the car whole. I'd prefer to sell her whole than deal with parting it out. If the car doesn't sell whole I'll let you guys know.

Anyone else interested in the whole car?

I forgot to mention I have a set of HID 97-99 headlights. The ballest on one of them needs to be replaced. The HID's in the lights are out of a mercedes benz so they won't be cheap. I'll let you guys know when I fix them and put them up for sale too.

Come to think of it. I could probably let her (the whole car) go for $3k with-out the CF hood and the manual trans.

Is the car running?

It will be a 96 gs.. it's painted right? body parts are there? how many miles? what is wrong with the car right now? I'd be interested in the whole car.

car has 112,000mi (motor has a year of driving since rebuild 12k miles maybe) She runs fine (really loud because of 3in exhaust -no kitty cat- ) Only thing wrong with it is she could use some paint, a new strut on passenger front, some tires and I'll fix the valve cover oil leak (small). I'd keep it but I need to buy something newer and more reliable.

I'm tired of the "scene" and want something quiter and more comfortable. I have ALLOT of stock and aftermarket parts...I'd take forever to type them all

How bad is "some paint"?

What is all painted red?
66917, RE: Judging interest in parting/selling 96 GS
Posted by babybeclipse, Feb-13-05 04:33 PM
just the interior is red. The rest of the car is baby blue (chix love that shit).

As for the paint. It could use a bit of buffing. With the stock hood on the car you can tell the paint is sligtly off between body panels. With the CF hood on the car it's harder to tell. I'm picky and wanted to repaint the whole car metalic baby blue (but that's just me)
