62947, Forged lower end (block) - Wanted
Posted by RST95eclipse, Dec-14-04 11:16 AM
I'm looking for a lower end (block) with forged internals for my 95 RS Eclipse. I'd like to get a built 2.4L, however I will take a 2.2L or a 2.0L. Please post any information, such as where or who would be willing to sell such an item. I'd like the pistons to be 8:1 ratio. My email is CRuff053@acad.roch.edu Feel free to email me any info as well. Thanks guys.

I have a block just sitting in my garage...and a crank. I could build one up for you if you are interested. I'd need cash in advance for all parts that i'd have to buy out of pocket...b/c i can't afford to front over a thousand dollars just to get those forged internals/oil pump/etc.

I just built my engine and my cousins up w/ forged internals similar to what you are looking for. This would be a 2.0 setup unless you wanna pay for a 2.2 stroker crank(pricey).

Let me know

How much are we talking for you to do this? Also, how long would it take? Just out of curiosity.

I'm not looking to make some huge profit on this. The main cost incurred to you will be parts!! Especially depending on which kit you choose to go with(i.e. 2.0 or 2.2 stroker). Also...where do you live? I'm located in Fort Wayne, Indiana...because shipping it to you would cost quite a bit too i would assume!! I got a pretty good deal on my pistons/rods/block/crank and still put nearly 1000 dollars just into obtaining them...not including the machine shop charges and the gaskets you need and all that stuff. A short block from HowellAutomotive costs 2200 approximately...not including shipping...and that's if you don't do a core return. I did my whole engine rebuild for just a little bit more than that, and that included a rebuilt head, and timing components replaced etc. I think i ended up sinking about 2500 into mine for the WHOLE engine rebuild process...and that might have included my clutch too? I'm not sure. Anyways...It's just an idea...not trying to 'make a living' off of this...just tryin to lend a helping hand to the 2gnt community!!

Oh yeah, and on time...2 weeks maybe? It shouldn't take too long...most of the wait time will be on finding/shipping the components and then also machine shop time.

I have a built bottom end, JE/Eagle/Clevite for $1400. New JE rings, used pistons and rods, bored .020, 8.8:1.

I've had this for sale for a while now, so if you want it and have the money already, let me know and I'll get you all the details.

don't mean to steal your thread, but how many miles do you have on this motor?

I have a block that was resently honed with JE pistons and Crower Rods with less than 500 miles on everything. You know how much everything cost new so if you are interested email me a resonable offer to esseclipse@msn.com
