im personally a believer that flywheels do nothing for our boosted cars.

Why would a flywheel have anything to do with our cars being boosted? I thought the whole purpose of a lightened flywheel was to reduce the rotational mass putting a load on the crank. Not being an ass here but I as well would like to hear the reasoning behind your comment.

you are being an ass. im not going to debate the issue with you. flywheels hurt the performance of our cars. they do not add performance. if they car was NA.. maybe it would help.

Please explain how I'm being an ass. I simply said that you were wrong. If lightend flywheels hurt performance they why is it so many pro turbo cars use them. The only disadvantage is that a lightened flywheel can potentially warp, but if you spend the money on a wheel like the RPS segmented flywheel then it's not as big of an issue. Please James, explain to me you logic here because it makes no sense at all how a lighter flywheel hurts performance.

i see james logic. lightened flywheels make less rotational mass. now think about this...
less rotational mass would make quicker acceleration(quicker spool)
less rotational mass would make quicker deceleration(turbo spools down quicker) ie: taking more time to spool up while shifting.
the argument can go both ways, but as where someone stated about a FD3S rotaries are a different animal.
now, i believe someone was looking for a flywheel to buy. BUMP

my friend has my clutchmasters flywheel if your interested and yes you can tell good difference in power with it. i got a killer deal on another clutch that was non modular so i didnt need it
let me know if your interested and i can get you pics
also how in the hell could it not help yes it will take more throttle to go up hills, and the rpms will drop faster but at the same time the motor tachs out quicker and i could tell a difference in power with it in and with it not in at the same amount of boost no other mods added. so please explain your point james. also isnt it like 3.3hp added per pound taken off the crank?
fully built, gt70 turbo, and F.A.S.T standalone what more do i need to say

Yes I would like pictures please. Also an aluminum flywheel has less inertia so you launches will not be as good. I am thnking about going to a steel one now after research. Also wiht the hp numbers I am hoping for a steel flywheel will hold better. The alum ones insert is very hard steel therefor the clutch cannot grab as much. Anyway please send me pictures of whatever you have. and a price is helpful too.

ok here is the DL on aluminum flywheels....
(strip / dyno tested)
the rev rate is DRAMATICALLY increased.. the motor will rev ALOT quicker, easier, and alow a turbocharged vehicle to create boost MUCH quicker in both low end and high end.. the problem is durability as well as decel.. the car will decel EXTREMELY hard and fast, causing a bit of abuse to the bearings
mind u if u add a lightened flywheel u better have your motor balanced if u dont u will have shake and vibration due to this (in most causes some more severe then others)

If this is the case then why don't you hear more DSM people complain about problems with thier lightend flywheels? I don't think I've ever heard of anyone complain about bearing problems due to a flywheel. Also sure the aluminum might warp easier but if that's what your worried about go with a chromoly flywheel or even the RPS segmented wheel. RPS is actually one of the best wheels I've seen but the problem is that it is very expensive.

We lost Hp on our engine (engine dyno). Also it messed up the curve pretty bad.
