44748, What serpentine belt to buy that can hold high speeds and high boost? Posted by freddy_00_69, May-29-04 01:05 PM
I just bought a new belt for power steering, alternator, and a/c and it was put on wrong and broke in half already. So i want to buy a good one that can hold since i am running 15psi and want it to withstand the power. Any suggestions.

Gatorback belts. I've had them on forever.

I don't know if you can get them at napa. I got mine at autozone. Everytime I went into boost with my old belts, they would shred. These gatorbacks have seen 18psi and nothing has happened to them and they have been on for over a year and a half.

i removed the PS tensioner from the system and that solved my problems w/ throwing belts at high boost. The ps pump/pulley itself now act as the tensioner and just run w/ shorter belt. Been running that way for about a year now.
