I have a GLOSS BLACK powder coated 4G63 turbo valve cover for sale on Ebay... first bid is just $35. And yes, I know this is 2G "Non-Turbo" but I have seen a lot of turbo guys around and figure this may interest them...

so what if you don't have a useable core? Like if it's cracked or something? Do you still have to pay an additional $50???

If you have a running engine, you should have a useable core. If not, then you are buying the valve cover along with the coating and therefore wouldn't return a cover, we'd just keep the deposit and buy another one. The sale is just for the powder coating, not for the valve cover. We have to put core deposits on our sales to ensure that we get another valve cover back and continue our business. The prices would have to be higher if we were to include the valve covers in with all orders. Most people would rather do a core exchange anyways, that way they don't end up with an extra valve cover laying around and they just get what they want... the powder coating.

I was just curious cause the VC on my Talon has a small piece broken off where the sparkplug cover would screw into. It's still on the car and doesn't leak but still has flaws that I'm sure people wouldn't want...

You have a very good point that I didn't initially think of. In your case I'd say your best bet would be to buy a spare valve cover since there's so many around for as cheap as you can get. Send that to have coated, then put your old one on Ebay (make sure you mention the flaw), re-sell it and make your money back. Things on Ebay go for much more than what you find in forums and what not.

But you're right, I wouldnt be able to accept that as a core because there's no way for me to tell the next person that it won't leak. They will just think I'm crazy for sending them a broken valve cover. Situations like this are always tough to deal with since there's no real good solution.

Oh, I gotcha... I didn't even know you need to put in a deposit, I have a question. Could you powdercoat something like a name? For extra money of course

Powder coating a name would be possible but it would be extremely difficult to do perfectly. Therefore we don't currently offer that service.

Do you possibly have a picture of the valve cover? Certain types of blue are harder than others and therefore cost more. Send the picture to my email if you want to go further with an order or get a quote.

Thanks,
Scott
