26790, Gauging interest: Rear disk conversion and sway bar setup
Posted by a_miller_76, Oct-25-03 05:17 PM

I may have a buyer but I want to see if anyone else is interested cuz I can get more. Rear disk conversion (if you have drums) and complete rear sway bar setup with bar. $250 plus shipping.

Post up if you're interested and I'll get as many as possible.

Do you have more than one or are you just selling one? I know a couple of people including myself that would like to do this conversion.

Seems a bit steep man. You can get most (alot of salvage yards cut the brake lines) of the parts for the disk conversion at a salvage yard for under $120. Dunno about the sway bar stuff.

Uhm, that's what I'm saying. All calipers, rotors, brake pads, non-cut brake lines, and the set-up for sway bars is included.

If you buy the parts for the rear sway bar from the dealer here is the cost:

Part Desc. Mitsu No. Dodge No. Approx. $
2 Cont.Arm MB864728 MB864728 $45.00/ea.
2 End Links MB892982 MB892982 $15.00/ea.
2 Brackets MB515245 MB515245 $ 8.00/ea.
4 Nuts MS440504 MS440504 $ 1.00/ea.
4 Bolts MF241251 MBF241251 $ 1.00/ea
Approximate TOTAL $145.00

(quoted directly from RMDSM's website)

So I'm offering the whole thing for $250 plus shipping, that's not bad.

And to save time and trouble in trying to remove brakes and shit I'm shipping the whole knuckle.

All you guys who showed interest I'll see how many I can get. I know of two right now and I'm battling myself on whether I want one for my self or not. I'm going back next week to buy them so I'll know more then. If my buyer backs out I'll post up a "FS" thread like this and whoever gets in first can buy it.

It doesn't look like your including a sway bar wit hthis package. Are you? Also if you could quote me out the cost of just the brake conversion without the swaybar stuff thats cool. From what I have been readign a swaybar isnt a high priority unless your Auto-x'ing nad I have no intentions of doing that to my car. Can you let me know?

Seems like a fair price to me, considering all that you get including the knuckles...

Guys, i'm not trying to make this difficult. Yes, it includes the sway bar from a gs. If you want the disk brakes and the sway bar set-up we'll make a deal, if you don't...don't post...simple as that. If I sell them independantly then the price goes up. Sorry, i'm just trying to make this simple.

And for you guys who think it's "steep" then go to the junkyard and buy your own. I'm sorry but I'm not going to the junkyard and busting my knuckles in the cold and sitting in the mud just to get stuff at cost, but I'm not making much money either. Now if you get one from that msrecycling.com or whatever the conversion is $200 for just the brakes. I'm making it easy and you're getting the knuckle too so you don't have to spend all day taking off brakes, just take off your knuckle assembly and put this one in....simple. And you're getting a rear sway bar, you can't go wrong.

I just asked the smae question and got told to shut the fuck up. Forget it, with that attitude I wouldn't buy it from him anyway.

I didn't tell you to shut the fuck up. That was ajna_star.

I don't want to split it up if I don't have to. I have people interested in the whole set-up. If I have to split it I guess I will.
