Eclipseman1999, i'm pretty darn sure a 96 ecu will infact work in any 96-99 eclipse, talon, avenger. so lucky you, looks like you get to get rid of one of those ecu's you have. Jproduktion, you should probably jump on this. just make sure that it will work cause i'm not 100% sure. :thumbsup

Hmm, ill let you know if i could use that 96 ecu..I heard many problems going when you use a different year ecu.I also heard that each ecu is different with every year..So im gonna try to stick with the 97 ECUs just to be safe..But if all fails..ill let u know

actually i just remembered something... if you have mad cash to spend, you could always drop like $500 on an AF/X computer. right now they only make them for a 97. i bet you'd like that computer a lot more than another stocker. just a thought.:thumbsup

only do that if you dont plan on going turbo or using nitrous. you can use it with nitrous but there is a lot of stuff you have to prep for if you do. at least thats what ive heard on this board.

The AFX ECU would work fine for Nitrous use. You would only have to retard it using a MSD ignition or something similar when you spray for it to be safe. Otherwise everything else about the ECU is compatible. There are some good threads about this, because I was going to buy one, but the seller backed out at the last moment (doh!).
