i don't want to buy a new control arms. i need some ball joints left and right. i did the recall already and i don't think that mitsu is gonna help me replace these because my car is lowered. i don't neccesary need new ones, just ones in good condition. Thanks!!

what recall is there on the control arms? i have a 97 eclipse gs, does the recall apply to me? i need help asap because i am going to lower my car this week and if it does apply to me, i ll hold off on it. i do hear a clunking noise coming from the front right but nothing seems to be loose with the control arms. i was told it maybe that shock which i will be replacing when i lower it too. so before i lower it, any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

nah, it was a recall on the balljoints.

Yea that recall did me no good at all. The local dealer said the recall was just to have them inspected. Well, last spring the inspected both of mine and said they were fine. Now, 1 year and 4 months later, my car is in the shop repairing the 2nd busted ball joint.

It also did some damage to my fender this last time. It just awfully funny how they say they are good and just over a year later they have both broke..

^^^happend to myself as well, the balljoint seperated, the wheel buckled in and yanked out my axle, satan ended up havin to fix over a 1,000 dollars in parts all on their behalf. So in conclusion dont trust satan.

i notice that you guys have the 95-96 eclipse's. so does this apply to a 97? sorry to sound like a noob but i have never dealt with a recall before. so do i just go to mitsu and have them check it out? will it cost me anything? will bad ball joints cause "clunking" noises going over bumps at local speeds? i don't hear it on the highways or what not. or you guys think its the shocks? (which i think are the original ones since 97) how do i check for bad ball joints? sorry again for the questions and sorry to the starter of this thread, don't mean to steal it from you.
