I bought the infamous final drive gear set from Howell about a month ago. Turns out, I'll be needing a new engine, and instead of engine swapping, my chief financial supporters *cough*parents*cough* are looking to get a different car.

Never got around to installing the gears, and they've been sitting here on my desk since I bought them. Perfect condition, all nuts/bolts included.

I'm offering them up for sale. I'll ship them to you for $75 (obo, around that.) so I recover most of the cost, and you save 20 bucks.

Just as was said above, the gears provide faster acceleration at the cost of a lower top speed by changing the gear ratios. The sebring has these stock, while our car has different gears. Howell offers them as an upgrade because it increases your acceleration. Why mkae a new product and slap Howell on the side if the original factory part works just as well? Hence the sale of sebring parts on Howell :)

Dodge actually realized that many of us 2gnt'ers were swapping them out, so they re-numbered the part and now call it some sort of "performance package"..

some say that it is a 10% loss in fuel economy and others say it less. it depends on the driver really. i can get 27mpg out of my eclipse but like 19 mpg if i launch at every stop.
