It locks the camshafts in place allowing you to not worry about lining up the cam gear notches. This tool is especially good for those with a cylinder head that's been resurfaced and adjustable cam gears because it allows you to truly zero out the camshafts. No more trying to line up the three marks, just slap this in the cams and line the crank mark and be done with it. This tool puts your cams where they were intended to be if you use it with it with aftermarket cams with adjustable cam gears. I know it fits stock, Crower stage 2 and 3 camshafts, so if you have different camshafts, you may need to machine the dowel pins to a different size. Pm me for any questions. Thanks!

I purchased this tool and its great. Used it to confirm correct timing with adjustable AEM gears and Stage 2 turbo grind cams. If you are looking at this tool wondering if you should buy, the answer is YES.
