Im looking to put my MS into a stock ECU case.

I have a 96 MTX


Id prefer to not tear up a good one.


Hoping to find one for cheap since my local junkyards dont have them

I have 2 for 97 mtx. I don't know if they work completely.

I dont need them to work because im going to rip out the guts anyway.

Idk if the other years connect to the 96 harness.

are the connectors the same accross all years? ( I know the pinouts varied)

I believe its just the 95 & 96 that had the same connectors.

This sounds like a fun project, but I think I remember reading about an issue with using metal boxes for MS. If the board touches the backplate, it could create an unwanted circuit and short out.

If you have any junk computers laying around, you could probably salvage some of the little riser screws for a motherboard to push the board off the back-plate of the container. Just an idea.

Anyways, have fun with the project and take lots of pictures. A wiki on something like this would be awesome.

that is a good idea. I might plasti dip it or get some kind of board to cover the edges. I am planning on making a How to thread when I start this project.

Seems like the 96 and up all use the same 2x 40 pin connetors so the first person to Pm me an offer on a 96-99 ecu with the lowest price (shipped to 27401) wins!
