117522, GI - WTSell everything Posted by chris712vt, Apr-27-10 02:06 PM
Unfortunately, the time has come for me to move on from the DSM. My car has sat, broken, for 6 months now. The 12 months prior to that I hardly drove it. I simply don't have time to devote to it anymore, my truck is my daily, my interest has transferred to my bikes, and I don't have the money or passion I used to to keep up with the Talon.
This thread is to guage interst and get offers on my car and collection of parts. This is not a part-out thread. I haven't had time to work on it in the last 6 months aside from stripping some parts off... I really don't have time to be pulling parts here and there and shipping all over.
For those of you that remember my "Guaging Interest for Parting-Out" thread about 5-6 months ago, I sincerely apologize for never following through with the part-out. My intention was to swap in a stock engine, return it to N/A, sell it like that and THEN part out my remaining parts... but it never worked out.
I just got ripped off on a deal with another member of this forum for an engine. I paid him and never recieved anything, and after my efforts to recover my money or the engine it's looking less and less likely. Due to that, I cannot really afford to purchase another engine and finish my original plan.
My interest has shifted to wanting to just sell it all. The current state of the engine is unknown. About 6 months ago I developed a quiet knocking along my 10 mile drive to work one morning. By the time I got home at the end of the day my car sounded like a diesel truck. It could be somewhat minor, it could be severly major, but I don't have time to pull it apart and see for myself, nor do I have money to pay for a shop to do it.
Please, if you are interested in a car with great potential, that's pretty much finished minus whatever problem is going on in the engine, feel free to contact me and throw out some offers. PMs work or email at manzione@vt.edu. The car is located in my garage in zip 22180, this would obviously have to be a pick-up deal. The car has a howell 2.2 built stroker, garrett 60-1 turbo setup, MSnS with 1000s... it's ready to handle serious boost and burn the tires off. It just needs a new owner who will put in the time and effort.

These pictures are 1.5-2 years old by now. Most of these show the previous 50-trim turbo setup and gold wheels... since then the wheels were repainted silver and I upgraded to the 60-1, new IC plumbing and exhaust, and new fuel setup, but you get the idea from these pictures of what the car looks like.

Possibly interested in the wideband, can't use the bezel though.
Please post asking prices.

I said in the first post that this isn't a part-out thread, that is why there aren't any asking prices. I'm gauging interest to see if anyone out there wants to buy it all.
The only things I may sell separately at this point are the parts listed as "new and uninstalled" or "replaced and sitting in the garage." And FYI, I added my Aeromotive 1:1 to the list up there. I forgot I had that with my new 1000s and MSnS sitting around.
And as for prices on the new stuff like the MS, 1000s, and wideband... I added prices. They're brand new and have never been installed.

I'm interested in the blow off valve, rockers, lifters, fuel rail, and the center vent gauge pod if you decide to part it out.

Does'nt it say "this is NOT A PART OUT THREAD" at the top? I mean really people if he wants to part the car, he will tell you.
Anyway, I'm going to guess the car is being given away for free right? I mean you never set a price. I'll say that if its detonating as bad as you say its probly some serious timing problems or you bought bad petrol.

Haha, I was thinking maybe free + some change, ya know? Anyway, I doubt it was bad gas, I'm assuming something is seriously broken. maybe it's an easy fix, maybe not, but it isn't what I'd consider running condition even though you could probably drive away in it.
If people make offers, I'm aware of the condition it's in and I will consider it as selling a car without an engine. It could be shot, or 90% could be fine and you get a bunch of good parts. I'm leaning towards the majority is fine but I'm giving the benefit of the doubt and assuming the car is being sold "without an engine" and I'll consider offers accordingly.
I don't have a definite price in mind, I have a range I think is fair. But the car is only worth what someone will pay for it and I've been out of the game too long to just list an asking price and expect a quick sale.

I might be interested in that Tsudo Exhaust. that was in the available seperately list right? What are you thinking on that one?

You're right, the old 2.5" exhaust is separate. However I'd like to keep that right now in case I need to put it back on the car (if I end up parting the car and someone takes the full 3"). I'll let you know later if I'm going to sell or part or anything.

Ok, shoot me a PM either way. I'll probably forget to recheck this thread.
