I have a 1997 Minden Silver, Eclipse GS. 100% stock.

Sunroof
Cruise
Pwr locks and windows
5 speed

THE GOOD:
New clutch
New alternator
New starter
New battery
New tires
New brake rotors
New brake pads
New windshield
New wipers
New factory floormats
New upper and lower window trim
New plugs
New wires
New radiator hoses upper and lower

Car had a blown engine. Swapped in donor engine with about 75k miles. Roughly 115K on chassis.

Body in great shape. Paint is nice.

THE BAD:
Driver door wont lock. Seems something is jammed.
Speedo doesnt work. Maybe sensor? ( Sensor from my green car will be included in sale. )
Car runs rough. #3 cyl plug coated in oil. May possibly need a valve seal replacement job.
Older brother said it cut off on him a few times while driving down the road. ( ECU MAY be going - can buy one for $100 used )
Typical fading on sideskirts.

Bottom line:
I have spent $3808 on this car and have receipts to prove. Was going to sell the car for a profit originally.
I am heavily involved in management at work, and since my green Eclipse got totalled, I have NO TIME OR DESIRE to work on these cars anymore. I just want it gone.

I am asking $2500 obo.

Thanks
Jonathan

how much on average does a valve cover job cost

Depends on where you get it done. I think around $380 w/ 3angle valve job was what I was quoted, but that was more than just changing valve seals. This is taking the head off and installing again yourself.

No no no! Scratch that $380. All you need to do is get a valve cover gasket set, which comes with all new cylinder plug gaskets. Its $18 at auto zone, and takes 15 minutes to take off your valve cover, and replace them. I had oil on my plugs on 2 different eclipses, fixed them both for under $25.

Unfortunatley, I am eyeballs deep in work and dont see the end of it coming anytime soon, so delivering it personally is not an option. The reason I am selling in the first place is because I NO LONGER have the time to fix it and it is just sitting, and doing me no good.

I did reseal the sparkplug well, as well as, the valve cover, but I think it may be a valve seal that is the culprit.

Shipping would be the only option, and that would cost a couple hundred dollars to PA.

I am currently having a car shipped from Utah, and that cost me about $950, so it couldnt be that expensive to PA.

I appreciate your interest.

Thanks
Jonathan

I currently have dibs for a friend locally for the bumper and headlights and tails from my green car.

Stroker is being sold whole to another member.

Let me know if you need anything, and I will keep you posted on the lights and bumper.

Thanks
Jonathan
