powder coating will not be good for turbos or exhaust manifolds, powder coating liquidizes at 400* it WILL NOT stick to exhuast mani running 1000*+ just wont happen....

anything else other then those parts is good to go...

there are special powers you can use... it's done all the time.. i would just get it done by jeff hill but his guy closed shop and moved down south, so he has no one right now.... He use to coat the turbo and exaust mani all the time and they last with no problem..

I had all my stuff HPC coated and that holds well to heat. Though after 6 months the exhaust mani is showing some small cracks and it did change from the high shine color the pipes and VC have, to a matte grey color, but still better than the cast redish brown look...:D

Can you explain "exotic choices"?

Can you explain "exotic choices"?

i don't see that stated above..... is in ref. to special powders. I found a site that will sell you powders and the whole system so you can do the powdercoating yourself. But you have to buy the oven, and that's what costs so much and you need a place to put it.... wish i had it cause i'd buy one and start powdercoating myself

No, the sandblasting booth/cabinet is the expensive part. Ovens are cheap.

Exotic colors would be anything that isn't a basic color - red, blue, white, black, yellow, green. Things like gunmetal, multiple colors, fushia, muave, those other chick colors, neon pink, whatever, would be considered exotic.

I can answer any of your questions. Thura works for ARD about like I do - which is to say not. We're both friends of the shop, and we can speak for them in deals like this that they offer to this community.

If you have specific questions about colors, call ARD. The phone number is in Thura's (Avenger) sig.

where are you located at and what is the turn around like?
6012, RE: ARD Powder Coating Valve Cover SPECIALS!!

Intake manifolds can be done. Call ARD for pricing and color availability.

ARD is located in Houston, TX. Turnaround for a valvecover in a single color (they have red, black, yellow, and white in stock, and maybe blue to.) should be about a week, depending on if the valvecover has been painted before. The more paint on it, the harder it is to sandblast clean.

No. If you want the letters shaved off, do it before you send it.

You don't have to shave off the letters to powdercoat it..

I think he meant do they remove the powerder coat from the letters and buff them :)

Maybe if you ask them to. Of course, it's nothing that 5 minutes and a sanding block can't do.

So.. take advantage of it, while all of us that hang out at ARD still get our kicks from the sandblaster. :-)

If you ask nicely, i'll even do some of the work, because sandblasting kicks ass. :-P
